Mission
The Mission of General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) nursing is to prepare nurses who can provide quality healthcare to individuals, families, and communities. The goal is to help people attain, maintain, or recover their health and quality of life.Vision
The vision of GNM nursing is to prepare nurses who can work in hospitals, community health services, and research settings. The vision also includes developing nurses who are competent, professional, and compassionate.
- 1. Apply knowledge from medical including alternative system, nursing, physical, Biological and behavioral science in providing nursing care to individuals, families and communities.
- 2. Demonstrate understanding of lifestyle and other factors, which effect health of Individual and groups.
- 3. Providing nursing care based on steps of nursing process in collaboration with Individuals and groups.
- 4. Demonstrate critical thinking skills for making decisions in all situations order to Provide good quality care.
- 5. Utilize the latest trends and technology in providing health care.
- 6. Provide preventive, promotive and restorative health services in association with the National health policies and programmes.
- 7. Practice according to the frame work of code of ethics, professional, conduct, and Acceptable standards within the legal boundaries.
- 8. Communicate effectively with individuals, groups, and members of the health team in Order to promote effective interpersonal relationship and teamwork.
- 9. Demonstrate skills in teaching to individuals and groups in clinical, community Health settings and school of nursing.
- 10. Participate effectively as a member of health team in health care delivery system.
- 11. Demonstrate leadership and managerial skills in clinical/ community health setting.
- 12. Conduct need based research studies in various setting and utilize the research Finding to improve the quality of care.
- 13. Demonstrate awareness and interest towards the advancement of self and Profession.

PIMS School of Nursing is the youngest establishment of the Palakkad Institute of Medical Sciences, was founded in 2024. With the intention of providing quality nursing education and equipping nurses with the most elevated level of training and practice. The School of Nursing is affiliated to the Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council (KNMC).
The School, Under the aegis of our beloved Chairman, Mr V Anil Kumar, aims at identifying the health needs of the people, planning, and providing quality care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals and community groups.
